The Geo Spectrum is a subcompact car based on the Isuzu I-Mark. Various trim levels were available, ranging from very basic to Lotus Tuned and Irmscher models. In the US, the Spectrum was sold with 1.5 liter SOHC non-turbo and turbo engines, but diesel engines were not available. The turbo model I-Mark was first called the RS model, then the LS model a year later. It was only available with a 1.6 liter DOHC engine when it was manufactured as an RS model. Both the LS and RS models came with Lotus Tuned Suspension in 1988 and 1989, which offered rigid dampers, larger sway bars, and alternate spring rates.
The Spectrum has four cylinders, an automatic 3-speed transmission, and front-wheel drive. The Geo gets 26 miles per gallon in the city, and 30 on the highway. As the Spectrum is out of production, it is difficult to find on the current market, but can be purchased used for around $7,795.
